Cyprus Welcomes Russian Tourists
The Cyprus Tourist Office is optimistic that Russian holidaymakers can be attracted to Cyprus. Many Russian are opting for beach and family holidays and are expected to have Cyprus on their list of places to stay, especially in view of the tax agreement with Cyprus.
Last year saw a 50% increase of Russian visitors from 2009 with 223.000 visitors, the big tour operators in Russia are stating that even more Russian tourists will visit the island this year, with many of them saying that they feel at home in Cyprus.
From Russia there are now flights from 8 different airports to Cyprus, plus the large cities of Moscow and St Petersburg. With the large numbers of Russian tourists making their way to Cyprus, this should be a boom year for seafront villa owners.
